As many as 2,400,000 people in the UK are affected by Bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is a serious mental health condition. It’s an illness characterised by extreme shifts in mood from depressive lows to manic highs.
Without treatment, these periods of mania or depression have a major effect on daily life. It’s a condition that can devastate lives not just for sufferers but for families and friends as well.
At present, there is no cure for Bipolar disorder, but for the first time opportunities for mood stabilisation can be provided by participating in lottery-funded self-management training. Over the past ten years, not one training course participant has needed to be re-admitted to an acute psychiatric hospital.
There are a few places available July 20th – 21st and August 10th – 11th 2016. The courses are also open for carers, contact us for more information and details.
