Our support group provides advice, information and support to anyone affected by bipolar disorder, and for those people who care for them.
Bipolar disorder can be a frightening and exhausting condition; your world often seems completely upside down, when you receive the diagnosis. Not only is your health in jeopardy but your financial security, relationships and employment may also be compromised.
Our group aims to support anyone affected by bipolar disorder, we help each other to learn how to manage the condition abd to recognise and manage their symptoms more effectively, and carers can play an important role in this activity.
Our group is run entirely by people with bipolar disorder; our strength is that only people with this condition really know what the experience is like.
At present we are not able to provide a cure but we can provide perhaps for the first time, opportunities for stabilisation, for when the condition is well managed there is every hope of leading a happy and fulfilling life, even if it may not seem like that just now.
